The TB6560 Stepper driver is a good option to drive bipolar stepper motors that require up to 3A of current (adjustable via dip switches).

  • Working voltage: DC 10V-24V (There are many sources that say this module works up to 35VDC)
  • 6N137 high-speed OptoCoupler
  •  Toshiba TB6560AHQ chip, low-voltage shutdown, of overheating parking and over-current protection circuit to ensure optimal performance.
  •  Rated output: 3A of continous current adjustable via dip switches
  •  Automatic half-decay
  •  Excitation Mode: synchronizing, half step, 1/8 step, 1/16 step, a maximum of 16 segments. (adjustable via dip switches)

Getting Started with Arduino

Here are some quick instructions to get started with this module.  Users accustomed to working with the Big Easy Drivers should note that these drivers work exactly the same except for the names of the Step and Direction connections.  CLK = Step and CW = Direction.

Set the dip switches (see writing on the module) to set the max current.


Arduino  --- TB6560 Driver

GND  ---> CLK- and CW-
GND  ---> GND
N/C    ---> EN+ EN- not connected
2        --->  CLK+ (Step)
3        --->  CW+ (Direction)

Connect a power supply from 10-24V to the Driver Module GND and +24V terminal pins.
