Monitor the energy consumption in your home or business with the Energy Monitor Shield for Arduino. The Energy Monitor Shield is based on the Open Energy Monitor Project and connects up to four Current Transformers (CTs) to any Arduino compatible board. The shield outputs AC current data to arduino analog pins A1, A2, A3, y A4 (See photo below).
The recommended configuration is to use at least two Current Transformers, one for each phase. Simple plug-in the Current Transformers into the shield, connect the clamps around your primary AC lines and use the EmonLib library to read the current.
This shield works with the following Current Transformers:
This shield will work with any arduno compatible board but the Arduino YUN is a great way to upload your data to a cloud service for graphing and viewing historical data.
As an experiment CRCibernetica has created a free cloud service to record and graph your data at http://energia.crcibernetica.com/
The service will remain free as long as we can afford to maintain it.
