Product Overview
The T-SIM7080G-S3 from Lilygo is an Internet of Things (IoT) development board based on the ESP32-S3 chip and uses the SIM7080G modem chip from SIMCom. The board supports Cat-M, NB-IoT, WIFI and Bluetooth 5.0 with GPS and has 16 MB flash memory and 8 MB PSRAM2. It can be controlled via various interfaces such as UART, I2C or SPI. The board is ideal for IoT applications like smart home, smart city, smart agriculture, and industrial automation. On the back there is a pre-installed 18650 battery compartment for a Li-Ion battery to enable autonomous operation. If the energy is not sufficient, a 4.4-6V solar cell can be connected in addition to charging the battery.
Note:
- Recommended for advanced users only.
- We use this board with Claro network, it does not work with kolbi for us.
- SIM7080G supports NB-IoT and Cat-M in global frequency bands, but does not support 2G/3G/4G. Please confirm that the SIM card used supports NB-IoT or Cat-M before use.
- The SIM card must be inserted first before starting the SIM7080. If the SIM card is inserted after the SIM7080 is turned on, the modem will not be able to detect the SIM card.
